Changes of Glial Cell Line Derived Neutrophic Factor (GDNF)
in Trigeminal Ganglia after Exposing of Dental Pulp

AbstractObjective: To investigate the expression of glial cell line derived neutrophic factor (GDNF) in trigeminal ganglia after different periods of explosure of dental pulp.Methods: To observe changes of GDNF in trigeminal ganglia in different periods after the explosure of dental pulp, compared with that with normal cental pulp by immunohistochemistry.Results: Expression of GDNF was mainly found in cytoplasm of nerve cells and nerve fiber zone of trigeminal ganglia with dental pulp opened, was not observed in trigeminal ganglia with normal dental pulp. The positive staining intensity expressed differently with the period after pulp opened.Conclusion: These results indicate that GDNF may take part in inflamed and restored response of dental pulp.
