Improvement on Techniques for Making Myocardial Reperfusion Injury Rat Model

AbstractRat myocardial ischemia/reperfusion in situ is the most frequently used animal model for studing coronary artery disease, ischemic preconditioning and selecting antiarrhythmic drugs. In this paper, we reported our improvement on making such model. After 30 minutes occlusion and 120 minutes reperfusion of left coronary artery, area at risk/left ventricle was 55%±5%, Infarct area/area at risk was 58%±6%(n=10). Myocardial enzyme spectrum results: CK 4301±251u/l,CK-MB 2288±328u/l, LDH 2329±216u/l, AST 371±57u/l(n=5).
