Abstract:To study the hypotension action and the effects of ventricular diastole of extended-release felodipinetablets. Method: we employed a self-crossover study to learn 30 patients of hypertension with felodipine tablets 5mg once a day for 4 weeks, then analyzed the results statistically. Results: The systolic and the diastolic pressure of the patients decreased by 4.4 0.9kPa and 2.5 1.0kPa respectively, compared with those without using felodipine( P< 0.05). 50% of the patients was improved and 40% effective. The overall effective rate was 90%. Parameters of ventricular diastole: the Emax of the electrdiograms of the patients was increased by 7%, while the A, A/E and DT decreased by 13.2 %, 18.7 % and 17.4 % respectively, compared with those without using felodipine (P < 0.01 ).C0nclusion: felodipine can decrease the blood pressure and improve the diastolic functions of the heart ventricles.
