Medical Holistic Concept and Integrative Manipulation for Pelvis

Natural holistic concept of traditional Chinese culture claims syncretism of sky, terra and human. It consists of philosophy, natural science and social science. Works ,which guide social activity and scientific and technical activity in China, emerge in endlessly during past dynasties. Ancient China view for human body believed that human body is a outcome and an organic composite part of nature based on “Theory of vital essence and vital Qi”. View of “Vital Qi of body connects with natural Qi”opens out correlation of human, sky and terya, interactional and holistic relation of life. Those relations penetrated entire process of life movement. Chinese medicine was developed and perfected continually just about those cultural and historical backgrounds.

Whriter carries on ancestral Chinese medical experience and applies myself to developing and innova ting, to serve the people. During 1960s, Hong Kong was in a change from fishing and farming society to industrialized and commercial society. In my clinical practice for manual laborers, I realized gradually that their lower back strain were closely bound up Malposition of pelvis, which was usually ignored by others. “Malposition of pelvis” leads to symptoms correlated to brain and spine difficult to be cured. Writer analyzed those symptoms following methodology of Chinese medicine, complied with nature in macrocosm, transformed ancestral manipulative experience and resulted from “integrative manipulation for pelvis”.This therapy was developed for the treatment on over 100 kinds of diseases as fracture, traumatology, brain and spinal disorders. This method has fast effect, safe, simple and convenient, steady and credible, painless and,non-bleeding non-side effect. Only 0.5% of the cases treated with this therapy needed medication with the exception of weak patients. Applicability of the manipulation is very broad. It embodies characteristic and excellence of natural manipulative medicine.

面对21世纪的来临，人们对人类与自然环境的关系认识越来越深入。保护环境，返璞自然成为时尚。提倡整体整复治病的自然手法医学应运而生。

中国传统文化中天地人合一的自然整体观包涵了哲学—自然科学—社会科学等内容，早有文字记载，如《周易》、《黄帝内经》、《吕氏春秋》、《老子道德经》、《庄子》等，历代论著层出不穷，指导着中国社会生活和科学技术活动。中国古代的人体观以“精气论”为思路，认为人是自然界的产物和有机组成部分。所谓“生气通天”的观点，揭示了人与天、地互相联系、互相制约的生命整体关系；这一关系贯穿于生命活动整个过程。中医学正是在这一文化历史背景下不断发展完善的。

孟庆云先生提出：中、西医学认识论角度不同。西医学是按构造性自然观开拓认识的，其建构模式是原子说。中医学则按有机论自然观发展认识的，其建构模式是元气论。西方思维重形式逻辑，而中国古代则以辩证逻辑发展较为充分(中国医药学报，1983年第3期)。此论甚为精辟，笔者赞同孟庆云先生的分析。

笔者居港50年来，继承祖传中医经验，致力于发扬创新，服务大众。60年代，适逢香港由渔农社会转轨为工商业社会，百业兴旺，劳作者众。在诊治体力劳动者疾患的临床实践中，逐步认识到他们的“腰脊”劳损，与“骨盆歪斜”息息相关，而这点往往被人忽视。“骨盆中力”导致了脑、脊关联症状难以解决。笔者沿用中医方法论对此进行分析，顺应自然于整体，变革了祖传的手法经验，形成徒手“骨盆整体整复法”；继而推广发展，治疗骨伤、脑、脊等疾病100余种，取得收效快，安全简便，稳固可靠，无痛无出血，无副作用的良好效果，用药率仅为0.5%(衰弱者除外)，且适用范围广泛，不受性别、年龄限制，成效显著，体现了自然手法医学的特点与优势。如对先天性小儿脑瘫，通过手法治疗可改善脑脊一系列症状；对老年中风，见效快疗效巩固；而一般痛症，更可收较好之疗效。
